Pedestrian Sundays in Kensington Market - 2026-08

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, a group of 11 of our club members met in Kensington Market again on one of the Pedestrian Sundays, August 30.

We met at our usual meeting spot at the intersection of Spadina and St Andrew Street at 1:30 p.m. We were lucky to hit a period of decent weather, the rain from earlier in the day had stopped, but the clouds were still covering the sky, providing pleasant, diffused light – perfect for portrait photography. After a few welcoming words from the organizer and a group photo we fanned out into the streets of this vibrant neighborhood to practice our craft.

The streets of Kensington Market were very busy with visitors, guided tours, musicians, stilt walkers. They provided perfect opportunities for practicing people photography skills, taking portraits, candid shots…some of our photographers preferred to work with longer zoom lenses, some with wide angle prime lenses. Each has its advantages; each allows to take different type of photographs.

We walked along St Andrew St, Kensington Avenue, Baldwin Street, and on into August Avenue. After about one and a half hours of picture taking, we met in our usual spot, Trinity Common, for drinks, food and friendly conversations –  not only about photography, but mostly about photography.

After drinks and food, some continued our photographic endeavour for a few more hours.

I hope you will enjoy a selection of member photos taken at the outing.
