The Bertram Trophy is the oldest club trophy. It was donated by John Bertram in 1942 in appreciation of the progress I have made in Photography through the assistance given me by the members during my twenty years association with the club. For the very first judging the prints were taken to his home in Dundas, Ont. In order that he should make the presentation personally at the annual dinner, he was carried upstairs to the old club rooms on Gould St. – all 250 pounds of him – he was a victim of arthritis and confined to a wheelchair. That year he was awarded an Honourary Life Membership. It was the last time he visited the club. He died in 1947.
